1. Introduction

Cooklet respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, and what choices and rights you have when using the Cooklet mobile application.

Cooklet is a personal recipe notebook and AI recipe assistant application. The app allows users to create, save, organize, and personalize recipes. Some features may also include AI-powered recipe generation, AI recipe chat, image-based food analysis, and optional cloud synchronization.

By using Cooklet, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Cooklet collects only the information necessary to provide the app’s core features.

2.1 Account Information

If you create an account in Cooklet, we collect limited account information, including:

• Email address
• User ID generated for your account
• Authentication data handled securely through Supabase Auth

Cooklet does not directly store your password. Password authentication and account security are handled by Supabase Auth. An account is mainly required to use AI features, synchronize your recipes, and access your saved data across sessions or devices.

2.2 Recipe Data

When you create, save, or edit recipes in Cooklet, we may store the recipe content you provide, including: Recipe title, Description, Ingredients, Preparation steps, Cooking instructions, Notes, Category, Serving information, Preparation time, Favorite or saved status, AI-generated recipe content saved by you.

2.3 Recipe Images

Cooklet allows you to optionally add images to your saved recipes. These images are not required. If you choose to add a photo to a recipe, we may store: Recipe photos uploaded by you, Image URLs or storage references, Related recipe image metadata.

2.4 Images Uploaded for AI Analysis

Cooklet may allow you to upload food images to request AI-powered recipe analysis or recipe suggestions. When you upload an image for AI analysis, the image may be processed to understand the food, ingredients, or recipe context. These images may also be stored in Supabase to provide the requested feature.

2.5 AI Interactions

When you use Cooklet’s AI features, we may process and store: Messages you send to the AI assistant, Recipe-related prompts, AI-generated recipe responses, Saved AI recipes, Conversation history. We do not use your personal recipes, private recipe notebook, uploaded images, or AI conversations to train our own AI models.

2.6 Usage and Diagnostic Data

We may collect limited technical and diagnostic data to maintain and improve Cooklet, such as: App performance data, Error logs, Crash reports, App version, Device type.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

3.1 Local Storage

Some recipe data may be stored locally on your device using Apple technologies such as SwiftData. Local storage allows Cooklet to provide a faster and more reliable recipe notebook experience.

3.2 Cloud Storage

If you create an account or use cloud-based features, your data may be stored in Supabase. This may include account information, saved recipes, images, and AI interaction data.

3.3 AI Processing

Cooklet may use Supabase Edge Functions to securely process AI requests and communicate with AI providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to provide, maintain, and improve Cooklet. This includes managing your account, synchronizing recipes, generating AI responses, and fixing technical issues. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on providing app features, performing our agreement with you, protecting the app's security, and complying with legal obligations.

6. Third-Party Services

Cooklet may use third-party services like Supabase (backend), AI providers (OpenAI/Anthropic), and Apple App Store (payments). These services have their own privacy policies.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Cooklet does not directly collect or store your payment card details. We only receive limited status information to manage your premium access.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers. We share limited data only when necessary with our service providers (Supabase, AI providers, Apple) or when required by law.

9. Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide services and maintain your account. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your data except where legally required to keep it.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at samet.dev@icloud.com to exercise these rights.

11. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion by contacting us at samet.dev@icloud.com. This will remove your account info, saved recipes, images, and chat history from our cloud storage.

12. Photos and Camera/Photo Library Permissions

Cooklet requests access only when you choose to upload an image. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.

13. Children’s Privacy

Cooklet is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

14. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

15. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own due to the use of cloud and AI providers.

16. AI Accuracy and User Responsibility

AI-generated content may be inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing recipes and food safety info before use.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Your continued use means you accept the updated policy.
